I Have Always Been a Teacher
My name is Jason Dickinson and, as you can see from this yearbook photo from 2nd
grade, I have always been a teacher. I won a scholarship in high school through the
Future Educators club and have never left my chosen field. After tutoring throughout
college, I taught 8th grade US History at Keiller Middle School in San Diego before
moving to northern California so that my wife could pursue her Ph.D. at Stanford
University.
Currently I teach World History and AVID in this
classroom at J. L. Stanford Middle School in Palo
Alto, California. With my wife recently completing her
degree, my family will now be relocating to the San
Diego area this summer. I am sorry to leave my school
in Palo Alto but look forward to returning to southern
California and finding a full-time teaching position
in a community near our home.
I have been very fortunate to find teaching positions both directly out of college
and immediately upon moving to the San Francisco Bay area. Although the bulk of my
experience lies in teaching history and AVID in middle school where I have been
recognized with several awards and position appointments, I also have a supplemental
English credential and would welcome the opportunity to teach high school. Teaching
is my true calling, regardless of topic, and my versatility has allowed me to make
many adjustments throughout my career. Please take a few minutes to explore my
web site and feel free to email me with any questions you may have or information
regarding an open position in your district.
